ROADRUNNER: A FILM ABOUT ANTHONY BOURDAIN PREMIERES AT TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL

It has been three years since the passing of Anthony Bourdain. Many of us have been watching reruns of his shows during lockdown. New York is going to honour this man in a very big way.

The 20th anniversary of the Tribeca Film Festival is going to roar into the new normal of New York. Having been cancelled due to the pandemic, this year’s festival is will allow for in-person seating at the event’s theatres. The festival created as a response to the 9/11 attacks is doing the same thing this year to bring people together.

There is no other film that is more fitting to this year’s slate than Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain. Directed by award-winning Morgan Neville (Twenty Feet to Stardom, Won’t You Be My Neighbour?) this is a behind-the-scenes look at the bad boy chef, traveller and cultural icon. The man who brought you the book Kitchen Confidential in 2000 as well as the acclaimed series Parts Unknown and No Reservations comes to the life on the silver screen in New York where he was born.

The film will have never been seen before footage documenting his journey. As well as much insight from those who were closest to him such as chefs David Chang and Eric Ripért. They will comment on the celebrity chef who was
