In the Blood Boils at TIFF
Most of this year’s slate of films at the Toronto International Film Festival dealt with a topic that everyone should pay attention that being today’s youth or what is known as the next generation. Director Rasmus Heisterberg debuted his film In the Blood during this year’s festival in Toronto about a friendship between Simon, played by Kristoffer Bech, and a Knud, played by Elliot Crosset Hove who go through the trials and tribulations of being a young adult. Being both medical students to boot, the pressured lives of these two and the everyday quest for freedom are intertwined quite nicely by the work of Rasmus Heisterberg. Sleepless nights are what these two go through in this lone summer in Copenhagen where the stakes relationships with others are introduced, broken and re-introduced. It’s quite the whirlwind that both Simon and Knud go through and director Rasmus Heisterberg shows how it is one hell of a roller coaster ride growing up.
