HOT DOCS 2019: THE HOTTEST AUGUST

Published

on

A sense of urgency ran through our veins here on FERNTV after speaking with director Brett Story about her documentary film The Hottest August.  The documentary is an intimate portrait of the residents of the city of New York in the month of August and how they are collectively feeling at this certain point in time.  Tensions towards the president, the rise of white supremacy, wildfires in California and a massive hurricane in Houston are just a sample of all the events that New York residents are surrounded with and are affected by.  Director Brett Story doesn’t collect the evidence that climate change is occurring but the actual resulting anxiety as to how we are all feeling towards climate change.   Click the video above to watch the FERNTV interview as Brett Story goes into more depth with the film.
