What does it feel like to manage a rock band that took over the world at one point in time? Music Mogul Alan McGee has been through it all in his music career. From his days playing in a small band in his hometown in Glasgow to learning how to run a record label like Creation Records in London, Alan McGee’s Creation Stories is never a dull moment.

The film will makes its US premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. It is the first festival of this magnitude to allow in-person seating since the pandemic began.

Creation Stories was adapted from McGee’s 2013 autobiography of the same name, by Irvine Welsh and Dean Cavanagh. This was an opportunity for some of those in the cult classic Trainspotting to collaborate once again. Award-winning director Danny Boyle executive produces the film. As well, Ewen Bremner plays Alan McGee in another drug-fuelled role that will have you on the floor again.

This is a period piece of a man who speaks to his snakes and ladders journey in the music industry in the mid-90s. He speaks to a journalist named Gemma, played by Suki Waterhouse, in LA by the poolside. The man who created Britpop culture and its soundtrack by signing My Bloody Valentine, Jesus and the Mary Chain and Oasis reminisces of these times during his interview.

This film is directed by Nick Moran, who plays Eddy in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. So the audience can expect Britpop fun in a Trainspotting style. So expect a lot of highs and a lot of lows because that how the Creation Stories go!

Creation Stories will be having its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival June 16th, 2021 at 8PM.
