HOT DOCS 2018: THE HEAD AND THE HAND
Many films that were shown during the recent Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival in Toronto focused on friendship and how it was built. We were able to see this in the short documentary The Head and The Hand by director Marc Serpa Francoeur. The film focuses on two elderly and disabled women living in the islands of Portugal who have spent decades living together. Despite their everyday challenges, the two women enjoy their lives immensely by depending on one other for survival. FERNTV spoke to director Marc Serpa Francoeur in depth more about the film and what he felt on the status on short films and being a Canadian filmmaker.
